New Release: The Bar Tab Also Rises

Some will ask me, why this book? Some will also ask, why waste your time? Some even ask is it fun to write books that no one will read? Well, let me try to answer your questions.

I first starting writing this book while doing a study guide for the original The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. I love the original but at some points I thought it was comical how much drinking they did in the book. They were seemingly unaffected by how much they drank while staying up until 4am. I don’t know, maybe people were tougher in the 1920s? Or maybe the drinks were watered down?

Anyway, I couldn’t help myself. I took the original and rewrote it as a comedy. Some specific changes are:

  1. Robert Cohn is not a boxer but an Interpretive Dance Champion from Princeton
  2. Jake Barnes’ affliction is more comical
  3. A curse may or may not follow Brett Ashley
  4. Instead of The Running of the Bulls, they witness The Running of the Roosters
  5. There are also Pokemon card champions, poultry attacks, cartoon rat obsessions, and interpretive dance emergencies (Pretty standard stuff)

If you are looking for a light, funny book to read this is for you. If you do end up reading it you’ll be part of a select handful that has ever read the book. Drop me a line and I’ll list you on my reader Hall of Fame.
